Neverland Curriculum Specialist

Dayna Brink Mrs. Brink is the owner of the Neverland Nursery School and Prekindergarten.. She holds both a Master's Degree in Inclusive Education and Curriculum & Instruction from Portland State University, and a Bachelor's Degree from Oregon State University in Human Development and Family Sciences, with an option in Child Development. Her schooling had a heavy focus on constructivist practice; a child centered education theory that she brings into every aspect of the programs. Our programs reflect many different constructivist education styles including Montessori and Reggio influences. Mrs. Brink traveled to Italy to study the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, gaining a deep understanding of the Reggio philosophy. While in Italy she investigated the varying aspects of Reggio infant-toddler centers, and learned under some of the most influential individuals in the field, including Carla Rinaldi. Mrs. Brink has held many employment positions in the field of early education, consequently her favorite has always been learning alongside infants and young children. She believes children have the desire and the ability to search for the meaning of life, and their own sense of self as soon as they are born; it is her goal to aid in that achievement. Moreover, she feels practicing nurturing, responsive, observant care is the best way to support positive child development. |
